Credit Cards

The management of Northeast Family A Division of Self-Help Credit Union wants you to know that we have put a temporary pause on processing any new credit card applications. This temporary pause applies to our standard credit card and our share secured credit card. This change means that no new credit card applications will be processed or approved until further notice. However, all active Northeast Family Credit Union credit cards (standard and secured) remain valid and fully operational. 

For the convenience of our existing credit cardholders, below is a list of credit card services and contact information for the convenience of our existing cardholders, as well as descriptions of the credit card types that remain operational. 
 

Standard Mastercard Credit Card 

This card works like a line of credit where funds used to make purchases are borrowed with the card holder’s obligation to repay like a loan.   

Secured Mastercard Credit Card 

The card limit is backed by funds held in account at the Credit Union. Card transactions are reported to the credit bureaus, just like the standard credit card. Often, this type of credit card is used to build, rebuild, or establish credit.

Billing Rights: Information on your rights to dispute transactions and how to exercise those rights is provided in your account agreement.

How We Calculate the Credit Card Balance: We use a method called "average daily balance" (including new purchases). An explanation of this method is provided in your account agreement.
